Los Cerrillos Airport (ULC), Santiago
Los Cerrillos Airport is an airport designated for use by the public in the Chilean region of Santiago Metropolita. It is near the city of Santiago in Santiago Province.
The airport serves the city and the nearby area. The airport used to be the main airport in the capital of the city until Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport opened.
Flights operated by Braniff, Ladeco, LAN Chile, NYRBA and Pan American World Airways used to fly into the airport. It is used for chartered flights and for emergency services. Visitors to the nearby capital city of Santiago De Chile use the airport as a waypoint.
The airport is at an elevation of 1200 feet above sea level and has one asphalt runway.
