LATAM Airlines Group To Upgrade Travel Experience25th Dec 2014
Customers flying on any of the carriers under The LATAM Airlines group will soon enjoy a world-class travel experience once the modernization program is complete.
The group said that it will invest around $100 million on products and services upgrade starting this year through next year. Part of the program is a smart phone app that would soon be available for customers to enhance their travel experience across the group's network.
The upcoming app will surely change the way people travel in this part of the world. Many airlines in Asia and Europe already have their own apps available for use for their customers.
All member airlines in the LATAM Group will soon join in the bandwagon early next year.
Customers will be able to manage their trips through their smart phones using the app. Some of the salient features that customers will enjoy include, but not limited to, booking their flights, check-in, and even printing their boarding pass.
The app will also feature an updated flight status giving customers optimum comfort as information is accessed through a tap or two on the screen of their smart phone. Gone are the days when they need to call the office to confirm about their flights.
The LATAM Group has also inked a deal with video sharing giant, YouTube, to allow their customers unlimited access to the latter's popular channels and download into their device.
Another exciting offering that the group has announced is the availability of a wireless in-flight entertainment system that would be delivered straight to their customers' personal device. The system will feature an exciting and extensive menu offering to passengers on board via their laptop, smart phone, or tablet. A much wider choices of blockbuster movies, popular TV shows and videos, and music are available all throughout the entire leg of their flight.
According to the group's Vice President for Marketing, Jerome Cadier, they collaborated with Mobile Travel Technologies, Ltd. for the development of their new app. He said that the main focus of the app is to offer customers unrivaled efficiency in its use, design, and speed.
The LATAM Group is the result of the merger between LAN Airlines and TAM Airlines in 2012. The group operates routes across South America, North America, Europe, and Oceania.
