LAN Express is a Chilean Airline based in Santiago De Chile, the capital. It is the nation’s second airline and is a subsidiary of LAN Airlines and operates some international and domestic routes in South America for LAN Airlines.
While the brand was merged into LAN Airlines in 2004, the LAN Express code is still used for some domestic flights in Chile.
LAN Express started life as Ladeco. Ladeco started operating in 1958 and flew domestic routes between major cities in Chile and a few international routes. It was bought in 1994 by LAN Airlines which was then called LanChile and was merged with Fast Air, a cargo subsidiary of LAN Airlines. Ladeco and its fleet of Boeing 737, Boeing 727s and Boeing 757s were integrated to form LAN Express.
LAN Express flies to domestic destinations including Antofagasta, Arica, Balmaceda, Calama, Concepción, Copiapó, El Salvador, Iquique, La Serena, Osorno, Pucon, Puerto Montt, Punta Arenas, Santiago, Temuco and Valdivia.
LAN Express has a fleet of 12 aircraft- two Airbus A319-100s that can carry 144 passengers each and ten Airbus A320-200s that can carry 174 passengers each.
LAN Express is part of LAN Airlines and their loyalty program LANPASS.
